Donate Your Produce
Once a fruit or vegetable gets picked, it's only a matter of time until it goes bad. Unlike canned and packaged goods, fresh produce does not have a long shelf life. So, either you sell it quickly or you have to donate it -- otherwise, it gets trashed.
Now, we know donating items is expensive and time consuming. Unfortunately, it's simply easier and cheaper to just throw away excess produce. But before you do that, please keep us in mind.
We are NOT a 501(c)(3). But we hope that reducing food waste means much more to you than whom you donate your items to.
If you have excess produce, we are willing to do the following to make donating those items easier for you:
1. We will come to you. We will never ask you to deliver anything to us. You are busy enough!
2. We will pack and load ourselves. We won't ever ask you to load anything for us. Just tell us what you want to get rid of and we'll pack and load it ourselves.
3. We will, at your request, put your business name on our website. If you become a regular supplier, we'd be happy to add your name and website to our website to help support your business.
We will accept produce from any of the following:
Supermarkets
Wholesale produce companies
Farmers
Food pantries
Individuals*
If you're an individual and you grew more stuff than you could handle, we will pick up from you IF you have a sizable amount. So if you simply have one small box of produce, please consider giving to your neighborhoods, friends, or dropping them off at a local food pantry, church, etc. However, you are welcome to drop off at a location we choose (such as our home) if you're close by. We do have to consider gas as we drive a truck, so if we pick up, we really want it to be enough to give out to several families.
If you have enough produce to fill several boxes, we'd be happy to come out to you. Please fill out the contact form below and explain in detail what you'd like to donate.
Foods we mainly accept are:
1. Fresh fruits
2. Fresh vegetables
Secondary foods we accept are:
1. Bread
2. Dried goods such as beans and rice
3. Healthy drinks
4. Eggs
5. Bottled water
Secondary foods are accepted on a case-by-case basis. Our focus is encouraging people to eat more fruits and vegetables. We ask that any foods that are not fruits and vegetables be donated to a food pantry, church, etc. But if you feel that the food you have to donate fits our goal of making healthy living easier to do, then let us know what they are.
We do not accept refrigerated items at this time. But this is also on a case-by-case basis. If we could give it away that same day, then we could probably accept it.
Ready to donate to us??? We are ready to accept! Please fill out the form below and we'll get in contact with you within 24 to 48 hours.
